Features
Advanced Workflow
Brew-by-Weight Scale Compatibility: This is the headline feature of the "R". It allows the machine to communicate with a La Marzocco-branded Acaia scale to stop the shot at a precise gram weight.
Hybrid Mode for Plumbed Machines: A clever update that allows you to use a mix of traditional line-pressure pre-infusion and the new pump-driven pre-infusion when the machine is plumbed into a water line.
Extended Timeout Period: The new electronics allow you to customise pre-infusion for up to 99 seconds via the app, offering much more flexibility than the previous model.
Rinse Mode: A specific workflow shortcut where a quick flick of the paddle triggers a timed purge to clean the group head.
Hardware & Internal Upgrades
Easy Pressure Adjustment: You no longer need to take the machine apart to change the pump pressure; there is an adjustment screw accessible from the top or under the tray.
Built-In Shot Timer: A digital display is now standard, integrated into the front panel.
Cool Touch Steam Wand: Features the PEEK polymer tip, which prevents milk from baking onto the wand and protects your hands.
Group Cap Adopted from Commercial Machines: The group cap design is borrowed directly from the Linea PB and Linea Classic S, ensuring professional-grade thermal mass.
Spill-Resistant Drip Tray: Redesigned to contain liquids more effectively, this tray ensures your workstation remains pristine during even the busiest of mornings.
Barista Lights: Integrated LEDs illuminate the stage, providing clear visibility of your espresso as it pours to ensure the perfect crema.
Core Systems
Dual Boilers and PID: These remain the heart of the machine, providing independent control for steam and brew water temperatures.
Auto Back Flush and Standby: These maintenance and energy-saving features are fully programmable via the La Marzocco Home App.
Semi-Automatic Paddle: Inspired by the iconic Linea Classic, the paddle interface provides a tactile, hands-on brewing experience with a modern electronic twist.

La Marzocco Brew by Weight Scales: How They Work and Why They Matter
Compatibility Requirements for Linea Mini Owners
To use the Brew-by-Weight features on a Linea Mini, your machine must meet these three criteria:
IoT Connectivity: Your machine must have an integrated IoT (Internet of Things) board. Most Linea Minis produced after 2020 come with this as standard.
Latest Firmware: You must update your machine to the latest firmware (v1.0rc7 or greater) via the La Marzocco Home App.
The Specific Scale: Just like the Linea R, the standard Acaia Lunar will not work. You must use the official La Marzocco branded scale which contains the proprietary firmware required to "talk" to the Linea Mini's brain.
Retrofitting Older Linea Minis
If you have an older, non-connected Linea Mini, you can still join the Brew-by-Weight revolution. You would simply need to purchase and install a La Marzocco IoT Retrofit Kit before the scale can be integrated.
Why it’s a Game-Changer for the Mini
While the Linea Mini is a manual paddle-actuated machine, the Brew-by-Weight scale effectively turns it into a volumetric powerhouse.
Auto-Stop: Even though you start the shot by moving the paddle, the machine will automatically close the internal valve when the scale hits your target weight.
Hands-Free Accuracy: It uses the same "Predictive Drip Algorithm" as the commercial models, ensuring your shot stops perfectly even if you aren't standing right over it.
Note: This is not compatible with the Acaia Lunar. The scales can be purchased directly through La Marzocco, we do not hold stock of these.

Iconic Engineering Refined: How the Linea Mini R Mirrors the Classic S
The La Marzocco Linea Classic S and the Linea Mini R (EE) represent two different worlds: the former is a high-volume commercial workhorse, while the latter is a "prosumer" machine reimagined to deliver café-quality results in a home or low-volume light commercial setting.
The Linea Mini R, launched in early 2024, is the updated version of the original Linea Mini. It maintains the iconic EE (Semi-Automatic) paddle interface, which offers the tactile feel of a manual lever with the precision of an electronic switch, ensuring a barista-standard experience for the home enthusiast.

1. La Marzocco Linea Classic (S)
The Classic is the machine that defined the specialty coffee movement. It is built to be "bulletproof" in high-stress, high-volume environments.
Commercial Scale: Even the 1-group version is physically larger and heavier than the Mini. It uses much larger boilers to ensure that pulling shot after shot doesn't drop the temperature.
Volumetrics (AV): Most Classics are "AV" (Auto-Volumetric), meaning you can programme a button to stop at a specific water volume for consistent efficiency.
EE Interface: Unlike the "AV" version which has four buttons for programmed doses, the Classic S EE features a simplified button interface to manually start and stop the pump.
No "App" Focus: While newer "S" models have some connectivity, they are designed to be controlled via physical buttons or a technical interface rather than a consumer smartphone app.
2. La Marzocco Linea Mini R (EE)
The "R" stands for "Reimagined." It is designed to give you the performance of a Linea Classic but with home-friendly conveniences that guarantee café-quality espresso.
The EE Paddle: The paddle is a simple left-to-right switch. It activates a microswitch to start the pump, providing a professional feel without the complexity of manual pressure profiling.
New "R" Features:
Shot Timer: A discreet digital timer is now built-in above the paddle to ensure your extraction is always to barista-standard.
Brew-by-Weight: It integrates with La Marzocco branded Acaia scales to automatically stop the shot at a precise weight.
Pre-Infusion: Features a new two-valve system that allows for a "soft saturation" stage before full pressure hits the puck.
Adjustable Pump Pressure: You can now adjust the pressure via an external screw without opening the machine casing.
