Professional Consistency for Growing Cafés.

The Ceado Leon 700 is a compact yet powerful on-demand grinder, specifically engineered for medium-turnover establishments that require a seamless blend of productivity and flavour control. It is built around high precision 64mm hardened steel flat burrs and a robust 400W induction motor, allowing it to deliver a consistent output of up to 3.6g per second. Despite its commercial-grade performance, the Leon 700 is surprisingly compact, making it an ideal choice for bars with limited counter space or as a dedicated secondary grinder for decaf or specialty roasts. The induction motor is also equipped with thermal protection, ensuring the machine stays cool and reliable even during the most demanding morning rushes.

Central to the Leon 700's excellence is Ceado’s patented Steady Lock Grinder system, a world-exclusive technology that keeps the burrs at a constant parallel distance under any level of mechanical stress. This ensures that your chosen grind setting remains perfectly stable throughout the day, eliminating the need for constant recalibration as the grinder heats up. The machine also features a modern digital touch interface for precise dose adjustments and an optional Portafilter Activation (PFA) system for a hands-free, efficient workflow. With its light-alloy housing and a generous 1.6kg polycarbonate hopper, the Leon 700 provides the long-term practicality and aromatic precision that professional baristas expect from Italian-made equipment.

The Ceado Leon Range: Scalable Power for Every Bar

Professional Performance, Tailored to Your Volume.

Choosing between the Leon 600, 700, and 800 is primarily a decision about your daily shot volume and peak-time demand. The Leon 600 is the range's compact specialist, perfect for low-to-medium volume bars or secondary decaf stations. It features a smaller 600g hopper and a 300W motor, prioritising a reduced footprint while maintaining the grind precision found in larger models. Moving up to the Leon 700, you gain a more robust 400W motor and a full-sized 1.6kg hopper, designed for medium-turnover venues that need a reliable workhorse to keep pace with a two-group machine during morning rushes.

The Leon 800 represents the "heavyweight" of the series. It transitions from the 64mm burrs found in its smaller siblings to massive 83mm flat burrs and a powerful 600W motor. This combination allows for a significantly higher output of up to 4.2g per second, making it suitable for high-turnover establishments. Additionally, the Leon 800 incorporates advanced thermal management with an aluminium thermal mass ring to dissipate heat more effectively. Despite these differences, all three grinders share the Steady Lock system, ensuring that once you've dialled in your grind, the burrs remain perfectly parallel regardless of mechanical stress or thermal expansion.

 1. Burr Diameter & Speed

The most critical difference is the burr set. The 600 and 700 both use 64mm burrs, but the 700's higher power allows for faster output. The 800 jumps to 83mm burrs, which not only grinds faster but also stays cooler due to the larger surface area, preserving delicate coffee aromatics even during non-stop use.

2. Thermal Stability & Construction

While all models are robust, the Leon 800 is the most "industrial" in its thermal design. It features a specialized aluminium ring in direct contact with the motor, acting as a thermal mass to stabilize temperatures. The Leon 600 focuses on space-saving, being nearly 10cm shorter than the 800.

3. Workflow & Output

The Leon 600 is designed for "simplicity without sacrifice," whereas the 700 and 800 are built to "keep pace." If you are serving a single-group or small two-group machine, the 600 or 700 is ideal. For high-traffic shops running three-group machines, the 800 is the only choice that ensures the barista isn't waiting on the grinder.

About Ceado

Engineering Silence, Perfecting Precision.

Founded in Venice, Italy, in 1952 by Egidio Girardi, Ceado has spent over 70 years redefining the limits of coffee grinding technology. Their philosophy—"Designing Flavour"—is built on the belief that a grinder shouldn't just process beans; it should be a precision instrument that unlocks the full aromatic potential of every raw material. Known for their "over-engineered" approach, Ceado combines traditional Italian craftsmanship with groundbreaking innovations like the Steady Lock Grinder system and the world-renowned Silent System, making them the go-to choice for baristas who demand absolute consistency and a peaceful bar environment.

Innovation at Ceado is driven by a focus on four key parameters: retention, temperature, granulometry, and weight. This commitment led to the creation of the revolutionary REV Series and the Sweep-Out Dual Spin technology, which virtually eliminates coffee waste and cross-contamination. As the official qualified espresso grinder sponsor for the 2026–2027 World Barista Championship, Ceado continues to lead the global specialty coffee industry, providing high-performance tools that are as durable as they are sophisticated.
